The University of Oregon has a thriving popular music scene. Here are some of the things happening on campus.
UO Music and Concerts
The hub for live music on campus, UO Music and Concerts puts on free concerts every term for students at the UO.
HIP HOP JAM
The annual UO Hip Hop Jam is an event organized by the Hip Hop and the Politics of Race freshman interest group (FIG) to celebrate hip hop music and culture while bringing together campus and community artists to perform.
THE MIC
A part of the Lundquist College of Business, The Music Industry Collective (MIC) is a cross-disciplinary group that provides students the opportunity to connect with each other, professionals, and experiences. Through guest speakers, workshops, and more the group provides the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in the music industry.
A CAPPELLA ENSEMBLES
The university boasts several extracurricular a cappella ensembles. They perform regularly on Friday afternoons at the Erb Memorial Union (EMU) outdoor amphitheater.
The university’s premiere all-male a cappella group has produced six studio albums, produced multiple viral videos, been featured on NBC’s The Sing Off, gone on numerous national tours, and performed with A-list Artists including Boyz 2 Men and Kid Cudi.

ICCA Quarterfinal 2013 – 1st place winner
ICCA Quarterfinal 2013 Outstanding Arrangement awarded to Kate Taylor for ‘Wings’
ICCA Quarterfinal 2013 Outstanding Vocal Percussion awarded to Hayley Valoppi
The university’s premier co-ed a cappella group has won multiple awards, including:
– Advanced to ICCA Semi-finals in Los Angeles in 2014!
– Took 1st place and won outstanding soloist and best choreography in ICCA Quarterfinals 2015!
– Advanced to ICCA Semi-finals in Los Angeles in 2015
– Won best choreography and best arrangement both for the whole set in ICCA Semi-finals 2015!
